HP wanted a design that would work with multiple devices from several vendors. By creating features that are compatible with more than 30 different Original Device Manufacturer's (ODM's) devices, Gecko succeeded in engineering a flexible solution that allows HP to outfit their computers with parts from a multitude of vendors. HP was so pleased with the result that all subsequent products now include the features that Gecko engineered.
